These guides describe NAHPU panels, fields, and workflows. Start with Day One for a first-use practice project, use the Cookbook for tasks, and consult Best Practices for team conventions and data review.

  • Device Requirements: Choose field devices and accessories based on your field conditions, budget, and access to electricity.
  • Projects: Create projects and configure project information, settings, and time zones.
  • Settings: Configure catalog formats, field IDs, controlled vocabularies, database records, export presets, theme, and data usage.
  • Personnel: Manage people in the database and assign them to projects and fieldwork roles.
  • Sites: Record field locations, coordinates, and site information.
  • Collecting Events: Record the activities, effort, personnel, weather, and astronomy associated with fieldwork.
  • Specimens: Create and manage specimen records, capture data, identifications, preservation, and media.
  • Taxon: Manage taxonomic names and import or export taxon lists.
  • Narrative: Keep a field journal for observations and context that does not fit in another record type.
  • Export: Back up, transfer, and export project data and documents.
