Create a collecting event

Record one defined sampling effort at a site and time.

Steps

1. Open the Events page and select +.
2. Choose the Site ID and enter start and end dates and times.
3. Review the generated Event ID and add a suffix only when needed for uniqueness.
4. Complete the activity, effort, personnel, weather, and astronomy sections.
5. Review the stored event and its Site ID before linking specimens. Event fields update as you edit; check validation messages.
6. To move an event to another device without a file, choose Show QR in the event menu and Scan QR on the receiving device.

Tip

Create a separate event when the site, time period, sampling protocol, effort, or participating team changes materially.
