Record sampling methods, participants, and environmental conditions for an event.
- Select the primary activity and add notes for secondary activities. Add each sampling method, equipment count, dimensions with units, and method notes as effort records.
- Add the event participants and assign the appropriate event roles.
- In
Settings>Events, choose the environmental fields to display. Hidden values remain stored and exportable. - Enter observed values in the displayed units. Cloud cover uses 0–8 for eighths of the sky covered, or 9 for an obscured sky. Leave unmeasured fields empty.
- Enter sunrise, sunset, and moon phase from observations or a documented source; these values are not calculated by NAHPU. Follow the project’s local-time convention.
- Use custom fields for additional measurements. Review values and validation messages before leaving the event; environmental data is blank after event duplication.
