Add specimen parts and parasites

Document derived material and parasite records connected to a specimen.

Steps

1. Open the specimen and select Add in Specimen Parts or Parasite records.
2. For a part, record material type, identifiers, preparation or treatment, preparator, and remarks.
3. For a parasite, record the observed taxon or category, anatomical location, collection method, preservation, and identifier.
4. Use the configured controlled vocabularies where available.
5. Check that every identifier matches its physical label or container.

Review identifiers, dates, treatments, and storage after copying a part. A blank parasite record does not document an examination with no parasites found.
